BBK and PUNTUEUS have signed a collaboration agreement to promote technological vocations and capabilities

  • Through this agreement, BBK will be the collaborating entity of the educational initiative Kaixomundua.eus.
  • Kaixomundua.eus, organized by PUNTUEUS for the fifth consecutive year, aims to promote digital skills awareness and create digital content in Basque, teaching how to create websites.

PUNTUEUS and BBK have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of promoting technological vocations and capabilities among young people. PUNTUEUS has been developing STEAM-related projects and promoting the digital transformation of Basque society for many years, always from the Basque language.

On the other hand, BBK sees culture as a driver of social transformation, and within this philosophy, it promotes the equality of the Basque language and facilitates people’s access to cultural activities in Basque, thereby promoting linguistic normalization.

In this regard, BBK will be the collaborating entity of the 5th Edition of the competition Kaixomundua.eus organised by PUNTUEUS. This initiative aims to promote digital skills awareness and create digital content in Basque, teaching how to create websites. “We are delighted to be able to participate in a project of this nature, as one of the pillars of BBK’s philosophy is to encourage young people to engage with STEAM disciplines,” has stated Koldo Bilbao, responsible for culture and Basque language at BBK.

Digital Creators

In Kaixomundua.eus, students will be required to create a real website from scratch, and there will be an opportunity for teachers to receive training in the digital world.

“Students will have access to all the necessary materials for the development of the web pages on the competition’s website, which leads to greater autonomy in project development,” adds Josu Waliño, CEO of PUNTUEUS.

As support throughout the entire process, participants can find various contextualization and evaluation tools on the website of Kaixomundua.eus, including teaching units, video tutorials, and technical evaluation guidelines.

The registration deadline for this new edition has been opened with the start of the course, and the participation of 1,300 students is expected.

Success Case at STEAM Euskadi Awards

Kaixomundua.eus competition was one of the winning initiatives in last year’s STEAM Euskadi awards. The awards ceremony was divided into three categories. On one hand, STEAM educational initiatives promoted by educational institutions; on the other hand, STEAM educational initiatives promoted by universities and vocational training centers, and finally, STEAM educational initiatives promoted by socio-economic entities.

Kaixomundua.eus received a double award in the latter group, as it received the 1st prize in this category and a special mention in the area of gender perspective.

Thanks to this recognition, on October 18th, the initiative Kaixomundua.eus will be presented as a success case at the STEAM Euskadi event. In this session, key topics related to STEAM education will be discussed, such as the integration of subjects, suitable active methodologies, scientific culture, and critical thinking, among others.
