Euskaltel Foundation and PUNTUEUS have signed an agreement to promote STEAM skills among young people. Among the areas of action of PUNTUEUS are promoting STEAM vocations and strengthening the digital skills of Basque society, for which several projects have been developed.

For its part, Euskaltel Foundation aims to create and foster connections between people, businesses, and initiatives in the area of ICT usage. To achieve these objectives, it promotes various projects aimed at young people and students.

An example of this is the Euskaltel Foundation’s collaboration with the project Kaixomundua.eus since its creation. From the beginning, it has been a partner in the project and will sponsor the recently launched edition.

Digital skills development

In the initiative Kaixomundua.eus, students create real web projects during the school year. The goal is to foster knowledge of digital skills by learning to create websites. Along these lines, in 2022, Kaixomundua.eus received the STEAM Euskadi award and a mention in the area of gender perspective, in addition to the STEAM Euskadi Seal.

The 2023-2024 school year edition included participation from 54 educational centers and 1,334 students from the Basque Country. Registration for the new edition is now open.

New resources for students

In addition to video tutorials explaining how to create websites, three video tutorials have been added in the resources section to enhance website security. The first explains how to develop a website’s legal notice and privacy policy. The second video tutorial explains how to install an SSL certificate, and the third video provides instructions on how to install a cookie manager.

In the future, a video will be published for young people to reflect on their attitudes in the digital environment. Additionally, teachers have at their disposal teaching units, exercises, and guidelines for conducting the Technical Evaluation.
