PUNTUEUS joins the ‘World More Than A Password Day’ initiative

  • “World More Than a Password Day” promoted by the Nonprofit Cyber alliance, aims to raise awareness about the importance of authentication methods more secure than the user’s name and password

PUNTUEUS, along with other international internet entities, joins the ‘World More Than A Password Day,’ promoted by the Nonprofit Cyber alliance. The goal of the initiative is to raise awareness about the importance of authentication methods more secure than the usual username and password.

In this regard, it is considered that increasingly secure authentication contributes to more effective protection for both organizations and individuals connected to the internet, also providing economic returns to organizations. For this reason, the associations involved in the project, including PUNTUEUS, have published a guide on the key steps that anyone can take to be more secure.

“One of the most important tasks of PUNTUEUS is to ensure the digital security of our entire community through various agreements and collaborations. Cybersecurity has always been one of our priorities, and initiatives like these provide international support,” noted Josu Waliño, the organization’s general director.

Today, Friday, November 10th, the usage guide has been published, which, among other tips, recommends using the passwordless authentication verification method. Likewise, the document suggests that each individual secures their email account and adds an additional layer of security beyond just using a password. Finally, in addition to recommending the use of a password manager, the importance of employing password selection techniques is emphasised.
